And here’s why:

Historical Significance: As one of the most iconic landmarks in London, the Tower has a rich history that dates back to 1066 when William the Conqueror began the construction of a massive stone fortress in London to defend and assert his power. Through the years, the Tower has served as a royal palace, fortress, prison and execution site.

Home of the Crown Jewels: Housed in the The Waterloo Block at the Tower of London, the Crown Jewels and Coronation Regalia are the UK’s most precious treasures. These include St. Edward’s Crown, used during the coronation of British monarchs; the Imperial State Crown, worn by the monarch as the State opening of Parliament; and the Sovereign’s Sceptre with Cross, among other crowns, swords, orbs and other regalia.

Architectural Marvel: The Tower's medieval architecture is impressive, with its imposing walls and towers. At the centre of the complex is the White Tower, a UNESCO World Heritage site and an excellent example of Norman military architecture.

Exhibits: In addition to the Crown Jewels, the Tower of London showcases a variety of engaging exhibits and collections. The White Tower showcases the historic and world-class Royal Armouries collections, including the 350-year-old exhibition, Line of Kings, as well as other treasures including the royal armours of Henry VIII, Charles I and James II. You’ll also learn about the infamous prisoners who were held at the Tower such as Anne Boleyn and Sir Thomas More.

The Yeoman Warders: The iconic Beefeaters are the ceremonial guardians of the Tower of London and are themselves symbols of British heritage. To become a Yeoman Warder, candidates must have served in the armed forces for at least 22 years and achieved the rank of sergeant major or equivalent. At the Tower, they offer entertaining and informative guided tours, sharing captivating tales about the Tower's history and its notable inhabitants.

The Ravens: The ravens of the Tower of London are famous residents with a rich history and significance. It is said that the kingdom and the Tower of London will fall if the six resident ravens ever leave the fortress. Their presence adds a mystical and historic element to the site.
